Hypothermia
Hypothermia is a serious medical condition in which when the body's core temperature falls below normal. The body's normal core temperature is 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit or 37 degrees Celsius. When the core temperature starts to drop, usually due to prolonged exposure to cold and wet conditions, the body's metabolism is not able to function properly. Symptoms include uncontrollable shivering, loss of coordination, and confusion; all symptoms become more severe as the condition worsens and can lead to coma and death if not treated.
