High-Density Lipoprotein
High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL) is a type of cholesterol found in the blood. It is commonly referred to as the "good" cholesterol because it transports cholesterol to the liver where it is broken down and then eliminated from the body. High HDL levels decrease the risk of heart disease.
